An advice service which helps youngsters having problems with drink and drugs is looking for a new name.
Run by the charity Crime Reduction Initiatives, the CRI Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent Young Person’s Substance Misuse Service is calling on local youngsters to come up with new name and win an iPod shuffle.
The service, which has been operating in the region since the summer, wants youngsters to email them suggestions.
Team leader Sandra Viles said: “Being a newly commissioned service it is really important to us that we reflect the young people we are here to help so we are keen that they be given the task of choosing the new name.
“We are open to all suggestions and hope that the winning idea can really sum up what we are all about and our work in this community.
“We are looking forward to hearing all the ideas and we are excited about revealing our new name and the winner in just a few weeks.”
The organisation hopes that encouraging young people to get involved will raise awareness of their work in the region and make them more accessible.
CRI Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent Young Person’s Substance Misuse Service is a free, flexible and confidential service for youngsters between the ages of ten and eighteen.
The team offer information, advice and one to one support for young people experiencing problems in relation to their drug and/or alcohol misuse and work closely with other agencies to ensure young people have the tools and resources to work towards recovery, be able to sustain abstinence independently within their community and access more rewarding, fulfilling lives.
