Private Landlord Forum celebrates third birthday

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 15:00, Wednesday November 10th, 2010.

Caerphilly County Borough’s Private Landlord Forum, which provides free advice and information to those in the property rental business, has celebrated its third anniversary.

To mark the occasion a special event was held at the Oasis Christian Centre in Cefn Fforest recently, where experts from the property world came together to give advice to local landlords and agents.

Greg Rowlands, chair of the forum, officially opened the event and offered a warm welcome to Councillor Lyn Ackerman, cabinet member for the environment and housing services.

She said: “The forum is excellent in that it provides useful information and assistance to local private landlords, to help assist them in what can be an extremely daunting job.

“Successful private landlords need a wide range of skills, ranging from an understanding of the legal obligations through to carrying out repairs, and the Private Landlord Forum creates a great platform for encouraging well-informed landlords and agents in our area.”

The next Private Landlord Forum meeting will be held on January 24 2011 at Penallta House, Ystrad Mynach, starting at 6.15pm. For more information call Sue Cousins on 01495 235382.
