Six Nations 2012: Extra trains for Wales vs Scotland match

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:16, Friday February 10th, 2012.

Arriva Trains Wales has announced extra trains for fans travelling into Cardiff on Sunday for Wales’ Six Nations clash with Scotland.

The game will kick-off at the Millennium Stadium at 3pm and around 75,000 fans are expected at the stadium. Many more will fill the bars and pubs in Cardiff city centre.

Arriva Trains Wales said it expected services to be very busy through the day.

Passengers are asked to arrive in plenty of time for their journey if they wish to catch their desired train, as services are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

A queuing system will be in place at Cardiff Central station after the match and Queen Street station will be closed as usual after 4.45pm.

Due to normal Sunday services being in place on some routes, Arriva Trains Wales is advising passengers to heed the weather forecast and dress warmly should they need to queue for their desired train.
