MP and AM knocked out by plans of Islwyn Gymnastics Club

A plans to transform on old boxing gym into a gymnastics venue has been backed by Islwyn’s AM and MP.

Islwyn Gymnastics Club’s wants to convert the boxing gym on the top floor of the Fleur-de-Lys Institute into a gymnastics venue.

Islwyn MP Chris Evans and Islwyn AM Gwyn Price said they were “knocked out” by the plans on a recent visit.

Mr Evans and Mr Price were given a guided tour of the work which has been undertaken to renovate the site.

Mr Evans said: “I was delighted to see the effort and hard work which has gone into renovating the institute. A number of local organisations use the venue and Islwyn Gymnastics Club is just one of those utilising the great facilities on offer in Fleur-de-Lys.”

Mr Price added: “The institute has been a central part of the community in Fleur-de-Lys for many years and now, thanks to the ongoing renovation work, community groups can continue to use the venue.”
