Maesycwmmer resident Gary Williams with Chris Evans and Lord Touhig

A Maesycwmmer resident is cycling from London to Paris to raise money for charity.

Gary Williams is undertaking the feat for Headway – The Brain Injury Association.

Islwyn MPs past and present Lord Touhig and Chris Evans recently met with Gary and presented him with a donation of £150 as he sets off on the long road to Paris.

Headway – The Brain Injury Association aims to increase awareness of brain injuries and their consequences as well as offering advice and support for people suffering from brain trauma.

Mr Evans said: “Gary is cycling for a fantastic cause and I was delighted to lend him some support. It will be a long road to Paris but I am sure Gary will do an excellent job.”

Lord Touhig added: “I wish Gary to the best of luck as he sets off on this very challenging bike ride. The Brain Injury Association has a real impact on the lives of those who have suffered some sort of brain trauma and I am very pleased to be able to help.”
