MPs often like to blow their own trumpet – although Caerphilly’s was quite content with an oboe.
Labour MP Wayne David played the instrument at a recent charity fundraising event in the Park Lane Hotel, London.
Every year, Parliamentarians help to organise and participate in a major fundraising event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The MPs and Peers perform various items between courses at a gala dinner in the Park Lane Hotel in London.
Mr David played his oboe accompanied on the piano by the International Development Minister Stephen O’Brien. Mr David played the theme tune from the film Ladies in Lavender.
Also taking part in the event was be Kevin Brennan, the MP for Cardiff West, and his group MP4. Shadow Cabinet Minister Michael Dugher was reported to have done his best Frank Sinatra.
The event hoped to raise 100,000 for Macmillan.
