Resurfacing of the A469/A472 in Ystrad Mynach

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 09:00, Friday March 23rd, 2012.

Diversions and road closures in Ystrad Mynach will be in place this weekend (March 24 and 25) and next (March 31 and April 1) for road works on the A469 and A472.

Preparatory works for resurfacing will take place this weekend leading to the closure of the northbound and southbound A469 between Cwm Du roundabout (Dance Centre) and the junction at the Hospital entrance. Diversionary signs will be in place to advice motorists of alternative routes.

On Saturday March 31, according to the council, the same arrangements may need to be put in place, depending on the progress of the works on March 24 and 25.

On Sunday April 1, there will be a full closure of the Cwm Du roundabout (Dance Centre) to allow final resurfacing at the site.

Once again, extensive diversionary routes will be in place, but motorists are advised to find alternative routes if possible.

On Monday April 2 between 6pm and 10pm and Tuesday April 3, again between 6pm and 10pm, the same traffic arrangements as the first weekend will be in place to allow for completion of the surfacing on the A469 approaches to Cwm Du Roundabout.
