Three young people had to be rescued from a cliff face in Risca.
The incident happened off Manor Way on the Ty-Sign Estate at around 5.35pm on Wednesday.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and specialist rescue teams from Malpas and Ebbw Vale hauled the pair to safety.
A spokesman for South Wales Fire and Rescue said: “We were called to Deveil’s Drop near the old quarry. On arrival the fire crews were faced with three people in a precarious position with a 20ft drop beneath them.
“Rescue lines were deployed to rescue the first with a ‘snatch’ rescue with the other two rescued by the specialist rescue teams.
“All three were taken to hospital with minor injuries.”
