News | Richard Gurner | Published: 10:21, Thursday March 22nd, 2012.

Gwent Police is appealing for information after a car sped off following a crash on the A468 between Lower Machen and Bassaleg

The collision happened at 7.40pm on Tuesday March 20 between a green Suzuki Vitara travelling in the direction of Bassaleg and a small dark coloured car travelling the opposite way.

A 42-year-old man, a 34-year-old woman and a boy, 12, and girl, eight, travelling in the Suzuki suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The dark coloured vehicle didn’t stop and continued to travel in the direction of Caerphilly.

Police officers believe the vehicle will have damage to its front passenger side and are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident, or think they know the driver of the vehicle to contact them.

They are also keen to speak to a lady who stopped at the scene to help the occupants of the Suzuki.

Contact Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
