Llanbradach motorcyclist killed in Severn Bridge smash

A motorcyclist from Llanbradach has been killed in an accident near the Second Severn Crossing, police have confirmed.

The 31-year-old, who has been named by police as Jamie Birkinshaw, was involved in a collision with a van on Tuesday night (April 24) at about 5.50pm.

The crash happened about 300 metres before the toll booths on the westbound carriageway of the Second Severn Crossing between Junction 22 (M49) and Junction 23 (M48 Magor).

The carriageway was closed westbound and reopened just before 9pm. No one else was injured in the collision.

Gwent Police are appealing for information about the collision. Witnesses should call 01633 642404.

    So sorry to hear about JB dying in such tragic circumstances. He was a tremendous man, full of life and energy, and had a great future with his family.

    He will be sadly missed by many.
