Environment Agency Wales is urging people to remain alert this weekend as further heavy rainfall is forecast from Saturday night through to Monday morning.

After a relatively dry day on Saturday, heavy rain will return in thet evening affecting the whole of the country but especially the eastern parts of Wales throughout Sunday.

Although river levels have risen in response to recent rainfall they are not expected to rise to levels that would cause flooding, however there is concern of flooding from blocked drains, small streams and ditches.

Officers are continuing to monitor river levels closely.

People are reminded to take care while driving, and listen to weather and traffic reports for any localised disruption.

For the latest on flood alerts and warnings go to www.environment-agency.gov.uk/flood or call Floodline on 0845 988 1188.
