News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:37, Thursday May 17th, 2012.

Charity Llamau, which helps homeless youngsters and vulnerable women across Caerphilly County Borough is in the running to secure £15,000 from the People’s Postcode Trust.

The trust is responsible for awarding grants from cash raised through the People’s Postcode Lottery and for it to give Llamau £15,000, the local charity needs people to vote for it.

Llamau hopes to win the money to ensure it continues its services.

In 2010/11, Llamau helped over 3,934 young people and vulnerable women in Wales. The charity has said the money would make a huge difference to service users.

The campaign launched on May 13 and voters have until June 22 to cast their vote. As well as the top prize of £15,000, a further £5,000 will be divided amongst five runner-up charities.

To vote, simply visit www.votethatcounts.org register and select ‘Llamau’ as chosen charity.
