More heavy rain expected across Caerphilly County Borough

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:32, Wednesday June 13th, 2012.

People across Wales are being advised to remain cautious as the unsettled weather continues this week.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for most of the country with heavy, slow moving and potentially thundery showers expected on Wednesday.

Localised showers are forecast across the whole of Wales during today and this evening, with the heaviest bursts expected in parts of north Wales.

There is a risk that the heavy rainfall could lead to localised flooding of roads and from blocked drains or small streams.

Environment Agency Wales has said it is keeping a close eye on the situation and is monitoring river levels closely.

Officers are also carefully checking rivers and removing any blockages that might cause flooding.

People are advised to take care as driving conditions may be hazardous, and people should listen to traffic reports for advice and for any disruption locally.
