Seventeen-year-old Daniel James Davies was a “doting father” to daughter Gracie-Jay.

The funeral of teenage dad Daniel Davies, who was tragically killed in a Bank Holiday road crash, will be taking place on Friday at St Martin’s Church, Caerphilly, at 10.30am.

Hundreds of tributes have been paid to the 17-year-old through website Facebook with a tribute group set up in his name attracting more than 2,000 members.

One tribute, from Ann Parkes, reads: “Farewell Danny Boy, you have left us with lots of happy memories over the years, your family were so proud of you. You achieved far more in your short life that most men will ever achieve in a lifetime, we are privileged to have known you, sleep tight.”

A message on the group is asking mourners to wear red instead of black.

A friend has also created a special memorial video to the teenager, who was described as a doting father to baby daughter Gracie-Jay, and has also posted it on the group’s wall.

I did not know Daniel, however I would like to extend my sympathy to the family. I do know how his girlfriend feels, my fiance was killed in a car accident 36yrs ago,it cannot even be put into words by one who knows, how her days are. But I must tell you that not a day has a gone by which I did`nt think of him. You will wonder how you will go on but he is really always in your heart to help comfort you, and remains for ever alive there.
