Businesses urged to enter Canmol Wales Marketing Awards 2011

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 09:00, Wednesday May 11th, 2011.

Caerphilly businesses are being urged to enter the 2011 Canmol: Wales Marketing Awards, organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

The Canmol awards, which means to praise in Welsh, were created in 2008 to promote excellence in the marketing industry in Wales.

Caerphilly-based Catnic, a leading brand in the building products sector, was one of five winners recognised at the Canmol Awards in 2009.

This year’s entries will be judged by fourteen business and marketing experts under the Chairmanship of Dr Jonathan Deacon, Newport Business School and Chair of the Wales Board of the Institute.

Professionals must enter online at www.canmol.comby the closing date of Sunday July 31 2011. Entry is free and you don’t have to be a member of the Institute to apply.

The five winning campaigns and individual accolades will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held at Radisson Blu Hotel in Cardiff on the evening of Thursday October 6.

Richard Houdmont, Director for Wales of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, said: “In the year that the Institute celebrates its centenary, we are hoping to receive innovative entries from marketers and businesses that are leading the way in modern marketing. Awards are a great team-building exercise and help focus the minds of your marketing team.

“From first year winner, Amlwch Leisure Centre and its £200 marketing budget, to last year’s winner, Atlantic Trampolines’ entrepreneurial thinking, the past few years of Canmol proves that outstanding campaigns are being created from all sectors and budgets across Wales.”
