IT and personnel workers from Caerphilly County Borough Council will be tackling the Taff Trail Challenge to raise £3,000 for T? Hafan, one of the Mayor’s chosen charities.

The teams will tackle the route on September 2 with one team cycling the full 55 miles from Brecon to Cardiff Bay.

The team members cycling the full distance need to raise £500 each, with those cycling 28 miles needing to raise £250.

This year celebrates the tenth year of the challenge which passes through Caerphilly County Borough at Penrhos cutting.

Chris Chivers, team captain from IT services, said: “I think T? Hafan holds a special place in the hearts of people in South Wales. This organised event helps raise the £3 million they need annually to support life limited children and their families. IT Services have been supporting them by taking part in the Taff Trail Cycle Challenge since 2008, there is no feeling on earth like crossing that finish line knowing that you’ve played your part in their success.”
