Gwent Police is holding a Rural Crime Awareness Day in Abercarn on Friday August 24.
The event will feature expert advice from a range of specialists on fighting rural crimes such as theft of metal, tools, diesel and equipment.
The day will be held from 10am to 4pm at Church Farm, Mynyddislwyn, Abercarn. NP12 2BD.
PCSO Allan Mills, who co-ordinates Gwent Police’s Farm Watch in Caerphilly County Borough, said: “Rural Crime Awareness Day has been organised to highlight the great work that is being undertaken each day by officers and partners in Caerphilly.
“Rural crime can affect many people and we want to remind criminals they will be watched and reported. One of the schemes we’ll be promoting on the day will be our Farm Watch. We have a Farm Watch scheme, which is a central part of our strategy for keeping our countryside safe. We are able to circulate important information directly to Farm Watch members via text and email, and I would encourage all farmers in Gwent to join the scheme.”
