Advice event for women to get ahead in the workplace

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:00, Thursday September 27th, 2012.

Charity Chwarae Teg is holding an event to help women get ahead in the workplace.

Advisors from the women’s economic development body will be on-hand with information and guidance at the Tenovus charity shop on Cardiff Road, Caerphilly on Friday October 5 and Saturday October 6.

At the same time the shop will be fundraising for cancer support by selling a special range of smart office-wear which has been donated by women across the area over the past few weeks.

The event is part of the Dress To Progress campaign being promoted by Tenovus and Agile Nation – Chwarae Teg’s European Social Fund and Welsh Government funded project which is helping women to realise their aspirations.

Hayley Dunne, project manager for Agile Nation, said: “Having a smart outfit helps to give women the confidence they need to advance their careers, particularly for interviews and when you need to give important presentations. We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Tenovus to make smart officewear affordable to all women while also offering them valuable advice in an accessible high street location and at the same time raising money for a very worthwhile cause.”

  • Chwarae Teg Agile Nation advisors will be at the Tenovus shop at 58 Cardiff Road, Caerphilly from 9am to 5pm.
