Appeal for information following theft and assault in Blackwood

Gwent Police is appealing for information following an assault and theft which took place on a lane off Bryn Road in Blackwood on Tuesday August 28.

The incident happened at 2.40pm. A 31-year-old woman was walking along the lane when a man ran towards her, barged into her and knocked her to the floor. He ran off with her purse.

The offender is described as white, aged between 20 and 24-years-old, unshaven, with short, possibly shaved, hair. He was wearing a blue Adidas hooded jumper with a “Retro” motif, black jogging bottoms and dark coloured trainers. He also had a gold hoop earring in his left ear.

Officers are investigating the incident. If anyone has any information relating to this incident, please contact Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
