News | Richard Gurner | Published: 17:41, Friday May 20th, 2011.

The A4048 has re-opened after an earlier accident between a car and a recovery truck.

The crash happened at about 10am outside the Nine Mile Point Industrial Estate, between Wattsville and Cwmfelinfach.

The driver of the car had to be cut free and was later taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital along with the driver of the truck.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman said the men’s injuries were not life threatening.

Fire crews from Risca, Cefn Fforest and Malpas attended.

The road was re-opened at 2pm.
