An IT firm based in Bedwas is expected to grow its sales by £200,000 after being accredited by computer giant Dell.

Excellence IT, based at Bedwas House Industrial Estate, has been granted Preferred Partner status with the hardware manufacturer – one of just two companies to gain the accreditation in South Wales.

Company co-founder Andy Beer explained that while the partnership will see extra cash for the company, achieving the accreditation was not just about the money.

He said: “Preferred Partner Status means we have reached a certain level of expertise in delivering Dell products to high standard.

“To gain the status, we’ve also had to put our engineers through courses and ensure they pass several exams.

“It’s been a long time coming for us and is a real boost for the whole company.

“It’s peace of mind and recognition that our customers are dealing with a company that is suitably qualified to deal with the management and security of their IT systems.

“This adds to our Microsoft partner certifications. We are company that’s not all about sales and we pride ourselves on our services.

“These technical achievements are really important for us.”

Excellence IT has secured its Preferred Partner status through its work with Dell’s SonicWall security products and services which secure computer networks from internet threats.

“Excellence IT continues to demonstrate its knowledge and commitment to Dell’s PartnerDirect programme,” commented Andreas Schuetze, Dell’s Marketing Director, EMEA Channel Marketing & Programs. “The company is well positioned in the South Wales area and has developed specialist knowledge on Dell SonicWall’s products, services and solutions. We are pleased Excellence IT has become a Preferred Partner to continue and grow our working relationship.”

Excellence IT, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, started life in Cardiff before moving to its current premises in 2008.

Established by former Hewlett-Packard employees Andy Beer and Andy Green, the company employs around ten staff and has an annual turnover just short of £1 million.
