Buses attacked by teens in Pontllanfraith

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 09:00, Monday November 12th, 2012.

Police are appealing for information after two Stagecoach buses had their windscreens smashed in separate incidents.

The first happened at about 5.40pm on Wednesday November 7 when a gang of teenagers kicked a football at the bus on Penllwyn Lane, Pontllanfraith.

Another Stagecoach bus windscreen was cracked during a second incident at 10.45pm on Bryn Road, near the Bird In Hand pub, Pontllanfraith. The teenagers ran away towards a green area, away from the vicinity of the pub.

Inspector Mark Smith, of Blackwood Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are increasing our patrols in the area and are making enquiries to identify those responsible for these incidents.

“Throwing or kicking objects at moving vehicles is extremely dangerous and risks causing serious injury to other people.

“I would urge anyone with information on these incidents to call Gwent Police.”
