Caerphilly Youth Forum elects their new Cabinet

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:00, Thursday November 22nd, 2012.

Caerphilly Youth Forum has elected a new team to represent them next year.

A new Vice Chair, Fundraising Officer and Press Officer was elected along with new representatives and deputies for Living Environment, Regeneration, Education for Life and Health, Social Care and Well-Being.

The new cabinet is as follows:
Chair: Lewis Harding
Vice Chair: Joel Price
Fundraising Officer: Morgan Trick.
Press Officer: Lauren Prosser
Environment Rep: Gerraint Jones Griffiths Deputy: Jordan Rees
Education Rep: Matthew Rodrick Deputy: Matthew Diggle
Regeneration Rep: Rosemarie Davies Deputy: Caitlin Davies
Health Rep: Paige Cherrington Deputy: Eiry Allender

Youngsters from across the county borough were invited to the Youth Forum Annual Conference to discuss issues that affect them.

They chose an issue for each of the four themes that the Youth Forum represents and then a vote was taken to decide on a priority issue for the Youth Forum to tackle this year.

The issue chosen as a priority was under the theme Living Environment, and will see the Youth Forum working with the Council to improve leisure facilities and increase the choice of activities on offer for a lower cost. They will also work to improve advertising for such facilities and activities.

The new Environment Rep, Gerraint Jones Griffiths, and the deputy Jordan Rees will now begin work with the new project group to make sure they tackle the priority issue for 2012-2013.
