The first in a series of workshops where children can make lanterns for this year’s River of Light Parade are to take place this weekend.
The free workshops will be held at Caerphilly Leisure Centre from 10am to 5pm on December 1 and 2, December 8 and 9 and December 15 and 16.
The annual parade, whichthis year takes place on December 20, sees hundreds of lanterns flow through Caerphilly town centre accompanied by carnival samba drumming, dancing, costumed performers, giant sculptures and lots more. The spectacular event climaxes with a fire show and fireworks display against the backdrop of Caerphilly Castle.
