New jobs at Nantgarw IT firm

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 15:00, Friday November 30th, 2012.

An IT firm based in Nantgarw has announced it is expanding its workforce by creating six new posts and three apprenticeships.

Logicalis, which provides IT support to public sector organisations in Wales and more than 100 other Welsh customers, began operations in Nantgarw in 2007.

The new posts will mean a 50% increase in staff over the last three years.

Tom Kelly, managing director of Logicalis UK, said: “Our decision to invest in Wales has proved a great success since we first opened our doors in 2007. Operating in a ‘knowledge-based’ industry we have a continual need for a highly skilled workforce and Wales has a workforce with the confidence, attitude of mind, skills and professionalism that we need. In creating these latest jobs we hope to make a further contribution to the overall Welsh economy. I hope to continue expanding our Welsh based operations in the near future.

“It’s fantastic to see our business in the region go from strength to strength, delivering continued job security as well as creating new skills-based employment and training opportunities for the people of Wales. Having designed, built and managed what is in effect the UK’s first Public Sector Network (PSN) here in Wales; it is natural that we develop a skilled Welsh team to spearhead our public sector services offering.”
