Labour councillor for Morgan Jones Ward James Pritchard will be holding a public event in St Catherines Church, Mill Road, Caerphilly on Saturday December 15 between 11am and 1pm.
The event has been organised to ask local people what they would like to see in their area and how local elected representatives can work together with residents to make improvements.
Cllr Pritchard said: “Delivering services in an era of reducing budgets is always going to be difficult. That doesn’t mean to say that things can’t improve though and I believe by working together we can achieve more than we can alone. This event will be the first of many and I hope local people come along to express their views on how services and opportunities can be improved in the future.”
The event will be free to attend and tea’s and coffees will be served.
Good to see this move by a Councillor, in Caerphilly, who is taking a positive, proactive approach, in partnership with all his constituents to see how he can improve their lives and work with them with the aim to do just that.
I understand Councillor Jamie Pritchard is a young man, and who is determined to help as many of his constituents as possible and to improve the environment in which they live. I also understand he is a member of both the Caerphilly Borough council and, the lesser known, Caerphilly Town council.
This is a revelation in the way Local Councillors, like Jamie Pritchard in Caerphilly, appear to intend to work in partnership with the public, previously it has been the case that once elected they become a `rare species` on the streets until its time to seek support for the next election.
Good on young Jamie, lets see if others follow where Jamie Leads.
More of this type of event should be arranged. I think this is a brilliant opportunity for the public to call upon cllr Pritchard for help in situations they are finding difficult.
James is a cllr who is in it to help the people and his town. He works hard to get the job done and is very enthusiastic to show that cllrs do actually help people. I'm sure james will have the tea, coffee and biscuits flowing to create a comfortble atmosphere for all who attend.
Good luck james.

Councillor James Pritchard gets my vote, recently I asked to council on MANY occasions to cut the over grown trees opposite my house without any result,I contacted James Pritchard and just like magic the council came and cut the well over grown trees.
I have been emailing the council regarding Dogs fouling outside my house,I asked The council would it be possible to erect a NO DOGS FOULING sign to the lampost outside my house, they first replied saying I will get a response in five working days so after the 5 days contacted them again this time they replied saying the five day response email was sent in error and it will take Months, this week I emailed them again and not even a reply this time.
Thank you Mr James Pritchard for your help re the Trees..KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JAMES PRITCHARD.
It is gratifying to see a local Councillor doing for their communities what they are paid by us to do.
Because of this young Councillors expressed personal, professional, principals in wanting to represent all his constituents, older, longer serving complacent Councillors could take a leaf out his book. I am sure James Pritchard does not recognise the words, `complacent arrogance` which could be so easily attached to some elected representatives throughout the borough, particularly has as been said, between election.
Perhaps the councillor will now fight for St Ilan's to be turned into a new secondary school, rather than yet enother leisure centre for the town. Or does he consider St Ilan's as outside his ward? Or is it against Labour Party policy ? Unlike presumably the pay rises for the bosses !
