A woman has died after falling from the viaduct over the A469, north of Ystrad Mynach Tesco.

Police were called at 11.10am on Friday December 14 after the unnamed woman was found injured on the road.

The road was closed as the air ambulance attended to fly the woman to hospital.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman confirmed on Saturday December 15 that the woman later died. She added the incident was not being treated as suspicious.

This is so tragic it's affected me badly as I know the woman who died. I won't name her as her name hasn't been published. This woman was a lovely outgoing bubbly person and a friend someone I could talk to. I don't understand there were no signs of this happening. Rip friend, listener, and a very thoughtful person. Me and steve will greatlymiss you. Our thoughts are with your husband children and family.

Will the name of this lady be released? this is such a small community and I know many people in this area. Sending out kind thoughts to the family.

I drive past this point everyday and feel so sad for her husband & children. Please send thoughts of love, support & courage at this sad time. Wish I had known her and helped her xxx
