Caerphilly substance misuse services to hold training events

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 15:00, Thursday December 20th, 2012.

Substance misuse services in Caerphilly County Borough are to host a series of training events to raise awareness around drug and alcohol misuse.

Organised by the Substance Misuse Action Team, part of the Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership, and hosted by the Employment Support Service, Drugaid GOALS and CRI Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent Adult Alcohol Service, the series of events will run throughout December and into 2013.

Each session will look to bring together organisations, community groups and businesses within the Caerphilly borough to look at issues including the signs of misuse, symptoms of misuse and problems that can be caused by misuse.

The sessions will also provide advice on how attendees can help people affected by substance misuse access free help and support from local services.

If you would like information about further opportunities to take part in awareness-raising sessions or to access free literature or advice please contact Drugaid GOALS on 02920 868675 or CRI Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent Adult Alcohol Service on 0845 241 2538.

Alternatively if you are a business or organisation interested in raising awareness about substance misuse among managers and staff, please contact the Employment Support Service on 01685 721991.
