Llancaiach Fawr Manor to host regeneration conference

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 18:09, Tuesday May 24th, 2011.

Delegates from public, private and voluntary sector organisations from across Caerphilly County Borough are set to attend a regeneration conference at Llancaiach Fawr Manor, in Nelson.

The ‘Standing Conference’, on Wednesday May 25, will focus regeneration in the county borough.

Cllr Ron Davies, cabinet member for regeneration said: “The Standing Conference is an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the public, private and voluntary sector, and emphasise our commitment to the regeneration agenda across Caerphilly County Borough.

“We are committed to promoting and regenerating our town centres, and we are currently leading the way on major regeneration works in towns including Risca, Newbridge and Bargoed, with state-of-the art library transformation plans also in place for Abercarn, Bargoed, Caerphilly and Risca.

“This, coupled with the news that in this year’s budget, the council put aside almost half a million pounds to invest in providing training and development opportunities for young people, means that we certainly have a lot to shout about.”
