News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:00, Friday January 11th, 2013.

Monmouthshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is looking to award a £5,000 grant to a community organisation.

The foundation has said it is also happy to accept applications for smaller amounts of funding.

Previous successful applicants include the Valleys Gymnastics Academy based at Croespenmaen Industrial Estate.

Application forms, which includes eligibility criteria, are available from any Monmouthshire Building Society branch or agency office and www.monbs.com/mbscf

All applications for funding must be received by Wednesday February 20, 2013.

Since its launch in 2000, Monmouthshire Building Society Charitable Foundation has contributed over £100,000 to more than 200 organisations and charities.

Penny Reeves, chair of the Monmouthshire Building Society Charitable Foundation, said: “For 12 years, the foundation has bestowed a significant amount of money to a wide spectrum of worthwhile organisations and causes.

“We are now delighted to have the opportunity to bestow a more substantial financial award than normal to one lucky local organisation who we consider to have a worthy need. We invite any local organisation who meets our eligibility criteria to apply for this award of up to £5,000.”

The Foundation is happy to receive applications from all walks of life, such as the arts, education, youth groups, the elderly, the hospice movement, the environment, support groups, carers and sports groups.
