Police have said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death a 56-year-old man at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr.
Officers from Gwent Police were called to the hospital near Ystrad Mynach on Friday at 6.10pm with a report of a sudden death.
A police spokeswoman said officers found the 56-year-old man from the Caerphilly area deceased and there were no suspicious circumstances.
