News | Richard Gurner | Published: 08:47, Thursday January 31st, 2013.

Gwent Police has advised residents in the Caerphilly town area to be vigilant and to ensure their properties are secure after two reported burglaries.

The break-ins happened in The Twyn and Windsor Street overnight between January 29 and January 30.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Please stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity in your area to 101 or call 999 in an emergency.”

To be accurate, there were at least six incidents, which the town centre residents association are aware of in the central town area, Windsor Street and St Fagans Street, during the night of the 29th and 30th.

A number of these incidents relate to properties in which older residents live, and are made all the more serious by these incidents taking place in the night, in residential properties, and by entering the rear gardens of residential properties giving access to rear doors and windows, in full view of the streets, and to victims who are vulnerable because of age.

The Gwent Police assure us residents that they have the `situation under control`, lets hope so, they certainly appear to have ` solved` these incidents by arresting an individual who they think is responsible.
