Caerphilly man given 18-month ban for drink driving

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:00, Thursday January 31st, 2013.

A Caerphilly man has been ordered to pay fines totalling £325 and handed an 18-month driving ban after admitting drink driving.

Michael Dunstall, aged 22, of Lon-y-Deri, was caught by police driving a Vauxhall Corsa along Bryn Road in Blackwood on December 29 2012.

Caerphilly Magistrates’ Court was told he had 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

Magistrates, hearing the case on Tuesday January 29, banned him from driving for 18 months and ordered him go on a drink drivers’ course if he wanted to reduce his ban by four months.

Dunstall was fined £250 for the drink driving offence and was also told to pay a £25 victim surcharge.

The drink driver also also fined £50 after he admitted missing a previous hearing.
