An aspiring 17-year-old actress from Caerphilly has won a leading role in top children’s BBC show Wolfblood.
Leona Vaughan will move from her family home in Llewellyn Drive to Newcastle this week to begin filming the CBBC drama in which she will play the lead role of Jana in the hit series. The series will be aired in the autumn.
The teenager, who has attended the Mark Jermin Stage School, said: “I am so excited to start filming. I loved this part from when I first read the script and I can’t wait to get into the story line.
“I have attending the Mark Jermin Stage School for three years now, since they day it opened. I have had lots of amazing opportunities but this is something I have always wanted. I will miss the stage school while I am away filming but will definitely be back when I have finished.”
Mark Jermin, Leona’s drama teacher added: “This is an amazing opportunity for Leona, she is a very talented actress and this is one of the biggest CBBC programmes currently on TV. I have no doubt that Leona will have a very bright future.”
I love leonna. She plays wonderfully in Wolfblood and her acting is brilliant.
