Llanbradach dog rescue charity gets £300

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:00, Thursday February 28th, 2013.

A dog rescue charity has received a £300 donation from a hot chocolate firm.

Hope Rescue, based in Llanbradach, got the money from snack firm Mars and its Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund..

Started in 2005, Hope Rescue was founded to help save some of the thousands of stray dogs destroyed each year. Last year it saved the lives of 560 dogs.

Community work by the charity includes providing temporary canine respite care for ‘at risk’ individuals and families with dogs, as well as providing practical support for dogs living on the streets with their homeless owners.

Founder Vanessa Waddon said: “This donation from the Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund couldn’t come at a better time. It will enable us to provide more canine respite care, like food and beds, to help dogs and their owners in our local area.”

Applications to the fund can be made at www.hotgalaxywarmheart.com. Deadline for entries is March 31.
