Caerphilly Mayor’s Great Hall Charity Gala

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:00, Friday March 22nd, 2013.

A Gala evening, presented by Island Opera, in aid of the Mayor of Caerphilly’s Charity Appeal is to be held in the spectacular surroundings of Caerphilly Castle’s Great Hall.

The Gala evening is being held on Friday 22 at 7.30pm, and will benefit both of Cllr. Gaynor Olivers’ chosen charities, Ty Hafan and Helping Hands.

T? Hafan provides comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families and it costs over £3 millions pounds to provide this each year. Helping Hands needs continual funding to improve the provision of equipment for cancer patients and disabled people in the local community.

The presenters, Island Opera, are a classical vocal company, founded by Tom & Rhona Colwell in 2009. They have performed in many countries around the world, and Tom is currently a member of the BBC National Chorus of Wales. These very talented vocalists will be performing favourite arias and songs from the Opera and the shows.

Mayor of Caerphilly Cllr. Gaynor Oliver said, “This should be an extremely entertaining evening and at the same time it gives us an opportunity to lend our support to two extremely worthy causes.”

Tickets for the Gala are priced at just £15 per person. To purchase, please contact 01443 864360.
