A firm specialising in renewable energy technology has expanded and moved to new premises after financial support from Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Renewable Innovations Ltd, now based on Caerphilly Business Park, supplies and installs a range of renewable technologies such as solar panels, biomass boilers and ground and air heat source pumps for hot water.

With support from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Business Enterprise Support Team, it has secured a grant from the Local Investment Fund.

As a growing business, it needed to move to new premises so that they could showcase products and demonstrate installation methods to their clients.

Kevin Cometson, director of Renewable Innovations Ltd, said: “We are very grateful for the help and support provided by the Business Enterprise Support team – from finding the right premises through to sourcing the financial support for our expansion plans. The Local Investment Fund has helped us to install various microgeneration renewables into the business unit. We are now able to demonstrate the products and also the installation methods to our clients.”

Cllr Ken James, cabinet member for regeneration, planning and sustainable development, said: “We are delighted to be able to support such an environmentally friendly business. It is good to see a renewables business leading by example – even their biomass boiler uses locally sourced wood pellets. I would urge more businesses to get in touch with the Business Enterprise Support Team to find out whether their business could be eligible for funding support.”
