A Bedwas-based printing firm has praised Caerphilly County Borough Council’s business development team for its recent support.
Tower Print, based on Bedwas House Industrial Estate, has said it has expanded and grown, despite the recession, thanks to a programme of investment guided by the council’s Business Enterprise Support Team.
Darran Pole, Tower Print’s managing director, said: “We are very grateful for all the support that the Council’s Business Enterprise Support team has given us over the years and I feel that a real partnership has developed. The Team has assisted us in all sorts of ways from advising us on IT systems through to helping us to access funding support to purchase new capital equipment through the Local Investment Fund.
“This has critically enabled us to both expand our markets and also to become more competitive. Five years ago, I would not have dreamt of trading in an international market and we are now trading around the world. Our big international break came when we purchased a new digital print machine, which was part funded through LIF, and this gave us the technical capabilities to satisfy the quality demanded by our London based customer to produce Flip Books. These are sent all over the world from America to Australia and New Zealand.”
Cllr Ken James, cabinet member for regeneration, planning and sustainable development, said: “We are delighted to be able to give Tower Print the support to expand and diversify their business. During their expansion programme, Tower Print has created a number of quality jobs for the area and hope to continue to recruit in the near future.
“I would urge more businesses to get in touch with the Business Enterprise Support Team and find out whether their expansion plans could be eligible for the Local Investment Fund. This fund is backed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government and could help your business to become more competitive.”
