Organisers of the Caerphilly Food Festival have been awarded £7,000 in Welsh Government funding.

Caerphilly County Borough Council is putting on the event in Caerphilly town on May 4.

As well as cookery demonstration programme, the event will include over 60 stalls, farmers market, animal displays, children’s activities and lots more.

Celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli will also make an appearance. The Michelin award winning Frenchman, who has appeared on ITV’s Hell’s Kitchen, will be carrying out cookery demonstrations during the festival.

Cllr Ken James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Sustainable Development, said: “Last Year’s event was overwhelmingly successful and I think with the funding awarded by Welsh Government and the support of such an acclaimed chef, this year’s event will be even tastier.”

Last year’s inaugural Caerphilly Food Festival coincided with the town’s turn to host the Olympic Torch Relay.
