The chair of Caerphilly Business Forum is calling on businesses to celebrate their success as it prepares to launch its 10th annual awards.
Andrew Diplock said despite the tough economic conditions for businesses, the forum had never been so popular or so active and the 2011 Caerphilly Business Forum Awards promises be the biggest yet.
He said: “Hard times call for hard work and that’s exactly what a lot of business people have been doing.
“Many have been rewarded with some remarkable successes and it’s important for them, the business community and Caerphilly County Borough itself that they get the public recognition they deserve.
“The forum has never been so popular or so active. Membership is still growing and, having sold out at last year’s event, we’re increasing the capacity this year to accommodate 250 people.
“There will be new categories, new sponsors and a new venue – the historic Llancaiach Fawr Manor near Nelson.
“The full details will be announced at the launch of the 2011 awards, sponsored by pharmaceutical maker Norgine, at Llancaiach Fawr on June 10. The new categories include Women in Business and a Finalists’ Achievement Award.
“This year’s event is also a landmark for us as it will be our 10th awards, which is notable in itself and the Finalists’ Achievement Award is in recognition of this.
“Finalists from the last ten years will each be considered and the award will go to the one which has, in the view of the judges, achieved the most.”
