Cefn Hengoed Ladies Choir successfully raised £200 for charity during a recent concert at Llancaiach Fawr Manor House.

The money raised has been split equally between the charities Ty Hafan and Helping Hands, the chosen charities of former Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough Council Cllr Gaynor Oliver.

Cllr Oliver and the leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, Cllr Harry Andrews, were joined by Wayne David MP at the recent sell-out performance.

The choir was joined by special guests Beverly Coats on Percussion, Aeddan Williams playing the Double Bass and Laura Potter playing the Clarinet.

The new Mayor, Cllr Michael Gray, was announced at the council’s Annual General Meeting recently.

Cllr Gray has chosen LATCH and The Alzheimer’s Society as the charities he will support during his time in office.
