Burglars raided a property while its owners were away and left the taps running.

Detectives are appealing for information following the break-in at a home on Bedwellty Road, Blackwood.

The burglary occurred sometime between 5pm on May 23 and 5pm on May 28 while the owners were away.

Jewellery, as well as personal and electrical items, were stolen. Water damage was caused by the taps being left to run.

Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to call Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting log 323-28/05/13

In a separate incident, a Vauxhall Vectra was stolen from Pengam Road, in Ystrad Mynach after its keys were stolen from a house.

The break-in happened at around 3.30am on May 30 through an unlocked front door.

A stocky male wearing dark clothing stole a handbag, wallet and mobile phone as well as the keys to the Vauxhall.

Anyone with information should call Gwent Police on 101.
