Appeal for information following attempted robbery, Oakdale

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery on a 17-year-old in the Oakdale area.

The incident took place between 10pm and 10.15pm on June 5.

The 17-year-old victim was walking along a lane that runs through the wooded area at the rear of Oakdale Comprehensive School when he was approached by two men who demanded his mobile phone.

When he refused to give it, he was assaulted and sustained injuries to his arm and face. The victim then ran off.

One offender is described as being of stocky build, approximately 6ft 1in tall and was wearing a white hooded jumper. The other offenders is described as being of slim build, approximately 5ft 7in tall and was wearing a black hooded jumper.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 667 5/6/13.
