Police are appealing for information following a dog attack in Gilfach.

An elderly man was walking his dog on the playing fields in Vere Street, Gilfach, on June 28, when a mastiff type dog, which was off its lead, attacked the elderly man’s dog.

The dog suffered serious back injuries and is currently being treated for its injuries. The elderly man was unhurt but was shaken and shocked as a result of the incident.

We would like to speak to a man and a woman, thought to be the Mastiff type dogs’ owners, and would appeal for them or anyone who might have any information to ring Gwent Police on 101 quoting reference 259 28/06/13.
