Mark Jermin stage school to open in Caerphilly

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:04, Tuesday September 10th, 2013.

The stage school that discovered Caerphilly actress Leona Vaughan, is opening a school in the town.

The Mark Jermin Stage School will open its Caerphilly school in September and is hoping to discover the next big acting talent.

School pupil Leona, 18, has recently enjoyed success after gaining a lead role in Children’s BBC’s popular series ‘Wolfblood’.

She said: “I started when I was 13 and I never thought I would get such a great role and be acting full-time as a job when I was 18.

“I have had so many great opportunities since joining the school that has helped me get to where I am today.”
Leona will be on screen in ‘Wolfblood’ from this month.

School founder Mark Jermin said: “We think Caerphilly is an ideal location to establish a part-time stage school. We are really looking forward to working with and developing local children’s performance skills to their full potential, and finding emerging new talent.

“It’s extremely rewarding to see children’s confidence in themselves grow while attending our classes. We are delighted that we can also to offer unique opportunities to those who wish to develop a career in the entertainment industry via our in-house agency.

“The Mark Jermin brand has an established history of success and we are keen to duplicate this locally by offering affordable opportunities for children to get involved in our dance, drama and singing classes.

“They will also have the chance to sign up to the agency where they will be represented to find work within the entertainment industry.”
