A 32-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a six-week-old baby.
Michael Pearce, of Nelson, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday and spoke only to confirm his name.
Six-week-old Alfie Sullock, from Fairwater, Cardiff, was taken to the University Hospital Wales Cardiff from an address in Nelson on Friday August 16.
Mr Pearce was originally charged with assault but this was later changed to murder following the baby’s death on August 20.
The case was adjourned until November.
