Driver arrested after 18-year-old pedestrian killed in Cefn Hengoed

A 29-year-old Cefn Hengoed man has been arrested after a teenager was killed in a traffic collision.

Police are appealing for information following the fatal incident which happened in Cefn Hengoed on Saturday September 28 at around 12.55pm.

Gwent Police said an 18-year-old man, from the Cefn Hengoed area, was taken to the Prince Charles Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the BMW car involved in the collision was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Specialist officers are supporting the family of the deceased at this time.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who may have seen a black BMW Compact being driven in and around the area at that time to contact them on 101 and quote log number 263 28/9/13.
