A Caerphilly town newsagents has raised more than £3.8 million for good causes through the sale of National Lottery tickets.
Suri’s News, in Cardiff Road, was named the top independent retailer in South Wales for the amount it raised.
The figure dates back to when the National Lottery originally began in 1994 and covers the period when the shop was owned by the Morgan family.
Current owner Anita Suri, who took over about two years ago, said it was a fantastic amount to raise and that she was really proud that her shop had played a part in funding for a variety of good causes.
She also added that she had been in contact with previous owner Cled Morgan who she said was also very proud of the amount raised.
