A Caerphilly woman has claimed a runners-up place in a competition to help improve the UK’s worst cooks.

Dubbed ‘Disaster Chef’, the competition, run by Kenwood, featured six hopeless cooks and tried to turn their culinary skills around.

Naomi Perks, (pictured above) from Caerphilly, was in the running during the recent live final but narrowly missed out on the top prize.

She said: “I’m delighted to have been able to take part in Kenwood’s Disaster Chef competition. Even though I would have loved to take the title, I couldn’t be happier with the transformation of my skills in the kitchen.

“I have confidence I never had before and can’t wait to show off everything I’ve learned to my family and friends.”

On top of their new confidence, each runner up also took home a Kenwood Chef as well as a trophy to remind them of their experience.
