Caerphilly County Borough town centre Christmas discount scheme to return

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 17:00, Thursday November 7th, 2013.

A town centre scheme offering shoppers a Christmas discount is to return for a second year.

The Unique Places Christmas Discount Card was launched last year by Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Town Centre Management Team.

Retailers in Caerphilly, Blackwood, Bargoed, Risca and Ystrad Mynach can sign up to the scheme with the aim of attracting more custom.

This year, shoppers will be able to download a Unique Places app to their smartphone, which will not only include an electronic version of the discount card, but also a list of the special offers in each location.

Cllr Ken James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Sustainable Development said: “I am very pleased that following the success of last year’s launch, The Unique Places Christmas Discount Card will be returning.

“This scheme not only enables our residents to get the best value but importantly it supports our local and independent retailers.”

Retailers participating in the scheme will display a star poster in their window.
